What you're noticing
Sewer and water line trouble tends to announce itself in a few ways:
- Sewage backing up again and again
- Standing water or wet patches in the yard
- Several drains slow at the same time
Underneath, it's usually one of these: tree roots, a blockage, pipe corrosion, a bellied (sagging) pipe, leaking joints, or a cracked, broken or collapsed section.
How we find the cause
It's hard to judge a buried pipe from the basement. We use non-invasive methods, including a fiber-optic sewer camera, to look inside the line and see where the problem is and what it is. You see it on the screen when we do. Worth knowing: all piping after the water meter is the homeowner's responsibility, so it pays to know what shape yours is in.
What we do about it
Depending on what the camera shows, the fix might be clearing roots and buildup, repairing a joint or section, or replacing the line. You'll get the options and a written flat-rate price for each before we start, and we'll explain why we'd pick one over the other.

Sewer & Water Lines FAQ
Who is responsible for the sewer or water line?
All piping after the water meter is the homeowner's responsibility.
Do you have to dig up the yard to find the problem?
Not to find it. We inspect with non-invasive methods, including a fiber-optic sewer camera, before anyone talks about digging.
Can tree roots be cleared out?
Often, yes. Roots are one of the most common problems we find. The camera tells us whether clearing is enough or whether the pipe itself is damaged.
Something leaking right now?
Call. A licensed master plumber picks up, day or night, weekends and holidays. You get a written flat-rate price before we touch anything.
